    What is JLPT?
    The JLPT is offered in five levels (N1, N2, N3, N4, N5). In order to measure Japanese-language proficiency as thoroughly as possible, test items are designed for each level.
    The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been offered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (formerly Association of International Education, Japan) since 1984 as a reliable means of evaluating and certifying the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers.
    At the beginning, there were approximately 7,000 examinees worldwide, but now it has become the largest-scale Japanese-language test in the world. Over time, test applicants have become more diverse, and use of JLPT results has expanded from skill measurement to include employment screening and evaluation for promotions and pay raises as well as use as a form of qualification.

    7. Can I take JLPT N3 directly?

    There are five levels of the JLPT. With N5 being the most basic level and N1 being the most difficult.
    You do not have to pass a certain level before moving on to the next level.
    For example, you do not have to pass the N4 before you can attempt the N3 exam.

    8. Do JLPT results expire?.

    The JLPT certificate never expires.
    However, companies and educational institutions that refer to test results sometimes set a time limit on the certificate.

    14. Does the JLPT include questions that require cultural knowledge of Japan?

    No question specifically asks cultural knowledge of Japan.
    Some questions may refer to cultural aspects, but all questions can be answered without cultural knowledge.

    15. What is the cut off marks for JLPT exam?

    These scores in each section are added up to get an overall score of 180. So, it’s more that someone who does well enough to get a combined score of 95/180 or more when adding up their grade in each section is good enough for the certificate.
