International Exams

The DELE exam assesses your proficiency in Spanish across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. 
It is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), offering certification at six levels:

○ A1: Beginner
○A2: Elementary
○B1: Intermediate
○ B2: Upper-Intermediate
○ C1: Advanced
○ C2: Proficient

● The DELE is open to anyone whose first language is not Spanish, regardless of age or nationality.

● A DELE A1 for schools version is available for younger learners aged 11–17.

● Academic Opportunities: Required by many Spanish-speaking universities for enrollment.

● Professional Advantage: Demonstrates Spanish proficiency for jobs requiring the language.

● Immigration: Used for obtaining Spanish or other Spanish-speaking countries’ citizenship or visas.

The DELE exam includes the following sections:

● Reading Comprehension: Tests your ability to understand written texts.
● Listening Comprehension: Measures how well you understand spoken Spanish.
● Writing: Assesses your ability to write clearly and accurately.
● Speaking: Tests your oral fluency and ability to express ideas effectively.

● Each section is scored out of 25 points, with a maximum of 100 points.

● You must score at least 60/100 to pass, with a balanced performance across the sections.

In order to perform various "everyday tasks" that require language, not only language knowledge but also the ability to actually use it are necessary.

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been offered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (formerly Association of International Education, Japan) since 1984 as a reliable means of evaluating and certifying the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers.

The JLPT is open to all non-native Japanese speakers.
There are no age restrictions for the JLPT.

The JLPT is held twice a year (on the first Sunday of July and December) in Japan and selected countries, including India, and once a year in other regions (on the first Sunday of December).
The application period is usually around early March until late April for July’s examination and around early August until late September for December’s exam.

Registration Fees (per Applicant) are between Rs. 1,000 to 1,600.

There are five levels of the JLPT. With N5 being the most basic level and N1 being the most difficult.
You do not have to pass a certain level before moving on to the next level.
For example, you do not have to pass the N4 before you can attempt the N3 exam.

The JLPT certificate never expires.
However, companies and educational institutions that refer to test results sometimes set a time limit on the certificate.

The HSK consists of 6 levels in the original format:
● HSK 1: Beginner
● HSK 2: Elementary
● HSK 3: Intermediate
● HSK 4: Upper-Intermediate
● HSK 5: Advanced

The revised 2021 HSK format includes 9 levels across three bands (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

The Goethe Certificate is an internationally recognized qualification for German language proficiency.
It is offered by the Goethe-Institut and corresponds to CEFR levels (A1-C2).

The Goethe-Institute offers exams across six levels, aligned with the CEFR levels:
A1 (Beginner): The most basic level of proficiency, for individuals who can use simple phrases and sentences to express basic needs.
A2 (Elementary): A level for those who can understand and use everyday expressions and phrases, and communicate in simple terms about familiar topics.
B1 (Intermediate): The level for individuals who can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling or interacting in German-speaking environments, and who can produce simple connected text on familiar topics.
B2 (Upper Intermediate): A level for people who can interact with native speakers with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, and who can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to their interests.
C1 (Advanced): For those who can produce well-structured text on complex subjects, understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and express themselves fluently and spontaneously.
C2 (Proficiency): The highest level, for individuals who can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently, and precisely, even in complex situations, with full control over nuances and subtle differences in meaning.

Each Goethe exam consists of four main components to assess the four key language skills:
Listening Comprehension: Understanding spoken German in various contexts, such as conversations, announcements, and lectures.
Reading Comprehension: Understanding written texts, such as articles, emails, and brochures, and answering related questions.
Writing: Writing texts, such as essays, letters, or emails, with correct grammar and appropriate style.
Speaking: Engaging in oral communication, either in a one-on-one interview or as part of a group task, depending on the exam level.

Anyone interested in certifying their German language skills can take the exam. There are no restrictions on nationality or age, though some levels are tailored for specific age groups (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Fit in Deutsch for children).

The certificate does not expire, but some institutions may require a certificate issued within the last 1- 2 years.

You can register online or directly at a local Goethe-Institut or an authorized exam center. Registration deadlines and fees vary by location.

○ IELTS Academic – For students applying to universities or professional
registration.
○ IELTS General Training – For work, immigration, or training programs.

IELTS is recognized by universities, employers, immigration authorities, and
professional bodies in countries like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

IELTS is scored on a band scale of 0 to 9, with 0 being the lowest and 9 the highest
proficiency level.

IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date.

○ Listening (30 minutes, 4 sections, 40 questions)
○ Reading (60 minutes, 3 sections, 40 questions)
○ Writing (60 minutes, 2 tasks)
○ Speaking (11–14 minutes, face-to-face interview)

○ The Listening and Speaking sections are the same for both.
○ The Reading and Writing sections differ. Academic is more research-based,
while General Training focuses on everyday English.

Yes, IELTS now offers IELTS Online for some locations, but the Speaking test is still
conducted with a human examiner.

○ Computer-based: Faster results (3–5 days) and typing for Writing tasks.
○ Paper-based: Traditional handwritten format with results in 13 days.

Yes, you can retake the test as many times as you want. However, you must pay the full test fee each time.

The CILS certification aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and comprises six levels:
○ A1 and A2: Beginner levels assessing basic language abilities.
○ B1 (CILS Uno): Intermediate level evaluating the ability to handle everyday
situations.
○ B2 (CILS Due): Upper-intermediate level; achieving this level exempts candidates
from additional language assessments when applying to Italian universities.
○ C1 (CILS Tre): Advanced level indicating a high proficiency in Italian.
○ C2 (CILS Quattro): Proficiency level demonstrating near-native mastery of the
language.

The CILS exams are open to all non-native Italian speakers, regardless of age or nationality, who wish to certify their proficiency in the Italian language. There are no specific prerequisites for any level; candidates can choose the level that best matches their proficiency.

CAPLE (Centro de Avaliação de Português Língua Estrangeira) is a Portuguese proficiency
exam recognized by the Portuguese government, universities, and institutions.
